    ALSO if you remember that airplane crash last fall.. a 3 yo child was strapped in a carseat on the airplane and was the lone surivor... here is the article:

    Actually I don't think that the vest would be a good choice in retrospect if I want to use it when we travel to the ILs. They can barely be trusted to buckle her into the booster properly (fortunately she knows how to do it and can correct them LOL!!) so the vest is not a good choice for them.
    I agree - I'd go with a booster in that situation too - it's much easier to trust the child to do it correctly sometimes!

    That letter is about lap babies. The question in this thread is about a 45lb 5 year old, not a lap baby.
