Sarah does sit well in a booster, actually much better now that she can read and so is less likely to squirm or be bored in the car.

Actually I don't think that the vest would be a good choice in retrospect if I want to use it when we travel to the ILs. They can barely be trusted to buckle her into the booster properly (fortunately she knows how to do it and can correct them LOL!!) so the vest is not a good choice for them.

I agree - I'd go with a booster in that situation too - it's much easier to trust the child to do it correctly sometimes!
