Default Calling all you craftsy people

I wanted to make my mom some garden stones/thingies for mothers day with DD's foot prints in them.

We tried concrete both hydraulic and regular and that just ended in a lot of tear and no foot prints.

    How do I do this?

Should I just make concrete circles and use paint to get her foot print on them?

    Thanks
    Tracey

I would just buy the kits they sell to do it with.

We've had great success with the stepping stone kits from Michael's Craft Stores, like this one:

Last year we bought a bunch and had DS and his cousins make stepping stones for MIL. They were a huge hit!

    Default Thanks

    Thanks guys,

It never occured to me that they would sell something like that. DH will be so happy, he was not loving making concrete, having DD cry, starting over etc. There is a Micheals in town, I will head over today.

Yep, we tried Quickcrete (make your own concrete) last year too, and it failed. Then, we bought a kit from Michael's and it worked like a charm. I already ha my own glass stones and colored glass, so I used that to decorate, along with the letter forms that came with the kit for imprinting. Definitely worth the few extra bucks. Our stones for Father's Day. Here's what they looked like:

Concrete doesn't work. QuikCrete MORTAR mix does.
