    Default AG doll sewing forums?

I know this is a bit of a stretch since this forum is pretty forlorn.... but does anyone know of a forum (sewing or doll) where people talk about sewing for American Girl dolls? Sarah wants an AG historical doll for her birthday and I'd like to make some matching things for her and the doll. In particular, I'm looking to make some of the more period pieces, since those are not available to buy (in girl sizes) except for night gowns.

is an active AG doll board. It's not specifically sewing. Members are girls as well as adult collectors and mothers. I think you'll get answers or pointers to other sites if you ask.

I tried to join that board a few days ago and they are not accepting members at this time. Thanks though!

i've seen patterns in sewing books like vogue or butterick or whatever for girl/doll combos. i can't remember, though, what they were - modern or historical. but give your fabric store a try. it's not a forum like you wanted, but still might be a start.

Did you and Sarah ever decide on which doll she was getting?

Sorry, just saw this. We've been away for a week or so.

She ended up with Kit for her birthday. She's had her about 2 weeks now and she LOVES her. LOVES her. Kit has already been on 2 long distance car trips with us and Sarah has been talking to Kit almost non-stop since she got her. Quite possibly one of the best toys ever!

I am thinking of making her a dress to match Kit's birthday dress for Hanukkah. If someone knows where to get similar fabric I'd love to know!

How about sewingmamas.com? It's not specifically about AG but I have seen doll clothes in the runway forum before.

Also, they have doll dress patterns on the AG website. http://www.agplaythings.com/

I'm wondering if now would be a good time to pick up some historical patterns? I saw a bunch in the Halloween book just yesterday though I don't know how historically accurate they are.
