Help! Son was sleeping in the bed but now the floor! How do I fix this?

Hi Everyone!
Looking for some advice. My son will be 3 in October and we have moved him to a big boy bed. All was fine until he got stuck between the bed and the rail. He is fine and he slept in the bed for the next couple of nights. But now, he won't even go near the bed, he wants to sleep on the floor and we can't leave the room until he is fast asleep. How do we fix this??

what about putting different bedding on the bed and that it's safe now. pretty simple and dumb, may not work but not sure you have anything to lose.

Can you take the rail off? We've never used one and both kids moved to a twin bed at 2 years. We just put the mattress on the floor. I think DS rolled off 1 time and DD has rolled off once so far. They slept right through that .

Otherwise, I'd probably let him sleep on the floor. Eventually, he'll move back into a bed.
