Frozen EBM... wwyd?

Long story short... went on vacation this weekend and returned to find that the freezer door had not been completely closed. The items on the door were defrosted, but still cold. Most of the things in the main compartment of the freezer were still frozen. Unfortunately, the EBM was stored on the door (all ~20 bags of it) and were defrosted. I couldn't get myself to throw it all away (yet), but maybe i should, just to be safe. WWYD?

If it were me, I'd throw it out and then go out and buy myself something nice to feel better. I go by the general rule that once thawed you have to use EBM w/in 24hrs. Oh, and I'd make DH throw it out just so I didn't have to see it all go down the drain or in the trash.

I'd use whatever I could in 24 hours, and toss the rest.

Then use any milk I could. Toss the rest. And cry some more!

another vote to throw it out. I feel for you. I've done that before too. So lost EBM plus a whole bunch of good meats.

Same thing happened to me, and the ladies on here advised me to throw it out. It's just not worth the risk. I'm sorry.

If it were me I would throw it all out - no telling how long it has been defrosted and it's not worth the risk.

oh dear.. i am so sorry. i feel so bad but i would toss it as well. i make dh toss it when i am not watching. it is so precious to me.. so maybe your dh can make it disappear...

I would throw it out as well. Sorry to hear that it happened. I know how it feels. I had to throw out mine twice when that happened. Both times, the whole stash went in the trash and I cried afterwards. All that hard work down the drain. Hugs!
