    Default Scarborough ONT area Q's

    Hi,

We'll be visiting the in-laws next month. They live in Scarborough. These might be silly questions but I want to be prepared. I could ask the IL's but the trip is going to be a surprise and I'm not sure they would know.

DD drinks organic milk, where can I buy organic milk in the area?
Does Walmart carry food as well? Can I get the organic milk there? I'd also like to buy yogurt (YoBaby) for DD's breakfast.

In the past, when we've visited (before DD was born) all we'd do is hit the chinese malls (Pacific Mall, Markham shopping center, etc). And eat a lot. Not exactly fun for an 18 month old. Does anyone have suggestions as to what we can do?

    TIA.

Hi - I'm not in the Scarborough area, but I can tell you that organic milk is available in most supermarkets (at least it is where I live - western part of the country). There is usually a separate area for organic dairy stuff. Oh, and Wal-marts do have 'grocery shelf' stuff (limited frozen stuff, canned goods, bread etc) but not full grocery departments.

As for what to do in Scarborough, I'm afraid I can't help you with that! Sorry. Enjoy your trip!

Just an FYI -- if you are buying organic milk/dairy products to avoid hormone, they are not permitted in Canada. So, feel free to drink regular milk if those are your reasons for buying organic in the US. I give my girls regular milk/dairy products in Canada, but always buy organic when we are in the US.

I've seen YoBaby yogurt here in Vancouver in regular groceries, as well as health food stores. I don't frequent Asian markets so not sure if it is sold there, but probably not.

Thanks for the info. I didn't realize that milk in Canada is hormone free. I'll buy regular milk since that's the case.
