I think my 9 mo DS may have his first cold. He's sniffling and sounds a bit congested. We're travelling by plane on Saturday - do I need to take him to the ped? If not, is there anything I should do to make him more comfortable?
TIA

Just had the same thing w/ my daughter- she's 5 months. Talked to a friend who's a nurse practitioner & my ped.- if mucus is light or clear, no infection- they both recommended saline drops and keeping baby upright as much as possible- someone else said sitting in bathroom w/ hot water running & steam would help loosen things up if baby sounds congested (altho i don't think that'll work well on a plane!)
During flight I've heard feeding baby is good b/c sucking helps pop their ears.
Good Luck
We also use a humidifier at night for congested babies. But, yes, we do all those things stated above.
