Honestly, I *do* think that Westerners paint all Quebecois with the same separtist brush. Having lived there, *I* understand that the Anglos and non-sep. folks exist. But, yeah, things are pretty black and white out here.

I think you're probably right there too I guess most of this - seeing large portions of the population as some monolithic stereotype - stems from the country being so physically large. That's why it's so important for people to travel.

I heard now that Harper's government is doing something and there won't be a vote on Mon. - I've been out of the loop for a bit now with work and things so I don't know all the particulars - and that we may not have to deal with all this just yet. I hope so, it'd be nice to have a bit of stability for a while.
