    Default Speech Delay

DS is just 8 months, but he hasn't shown any signs of babbling yet. Should I be concerned? All his other physical developments are advanced for his age (walking already, has 6 teeth) but he just grunts or whines. The doctor doesn't seem too worried.

    Any words of wisdom?

I think that often if children are working on one aspect of development, they may seem to lag in another area but really they often focus on one thing at a time. Boys are also more often a bit slower with expressive language development. So, I wouldn't worry too much but you could ask for an early intervention evaluation. It is free and funded through your county Department of Health.
