Default Wood Train Set recommendation needed!

Any recommendations for a wooden train set to replace our Kidcraft one that always falls apart (for a 2 1/2 yo)? We already have the train table. Not big on doing Thomas b/c of the commercialism factor, but our local store says Thomas is easier to get now over Brio and they replace parts forever.

    Thx!!

What do you mean, "falls apart?" We have brio, thomas, and generic wooden tracks and they all fall apart. Unless you glue or nail them together, that's what is going to happen. If you want something that snaps together, I highly recommend geotraxx.

My two boys - ages 4 and 23 months - don't play with our wooden track often. Instead, they're hooked on the Thomas Trackmaster plastic track. These remotes are perfect - forward and backward only, plus a Thomas song.

They also like to run their die-cast Thomas pieces on the track as well.

The best thing, though, is they don't cry and scream everytime it falls apart...because it doesn't fall apart!

A friend has geotraxx for her son. That looks very cool, especially with all of the additional sets you could get.

Best of luck with your search.

My son would have the same problem with it all falling apart-- then we got a couple of packs of SUreTrack- magic!!! holds track together perfectly! Even rasied track, curved, etc. It is the best!
