Still here I actually found pengoloo by looking into froggy Boogie! I am torn. Froggy boogie looks great and gets good reviews on board game geek, but pengoloo has those darn penguins. (my girls are penguin obsessed!) Both games are adorable. Thanks for the info!

    DS - almost 3 1/2:

    hits: anything Thomas- particularly Trackmaster
new Lionel plastic train for around the tree
crayola easel (that does not come with chalk or markers despite the fact that they are pictured all over the box)
    first act discovery drum set

    jury's still out:
    CARS remote control car carrier
candy land castle and thomas race game

    misses:
plasma car (though I had a ball driving it around the kitchen!)
Tonka Bounce Back Racer (ITA with other posters, it does not work- and it was quite a challenge to even find the darn thing- what a waste!)

-All of her baby sister's new toys

? Tag reader - we only have 2 books and she has other more active things to do right now
?Hyper dash (the firts thing I bought for her) - not even out of box yet

    DD 10 mos
    Hits:
    FP Learning house
    FP roll arounds set

We have had surprisingly little time to play with DS's gifts, and it usually takes him a while to really figure out his favorites, but here are my best guesses for now:

    Hits:
    Red Schylling piano
M&D Band in a Box and Beginner Band Sets (these were probably the top ones actually)
    M&D musical instrument sound puzzle
    Plan City garage
    Various Thomas trains
    Various Hotwheels/Matchbox cars
    Easel
    Trampoline
Don't Break the Ice (which is extremely annoying from a parent perspective- what was I thinking?!?)
    Paint
    Stuffed Lightning McQueen
Supposedly the cheapy doll stroller I bought is a hit, as he keeps talking about it, but he hasn't really played with it that much
    Plan construction vehicles
    Playdoh
    M&D cutting food-another huge hit
    Piggy bank
    chalk
    candy filled monorail from Disney

    Meh:
    Haba ice cream cones-we'll see

    Misses:
Christmas Pajamas- not that I expected them to be a hit, lol
Automoblox, although I think he'll eventually like them
    M&D unit blocks, ditto
Haba doll I thought he'd love him
The Target $4 Cranium duck game-can't remember the name, and the polar bear one (haven't tried the puppy bingo yet)
Other puzzles, although he'll probably like those eventually too
    Sodor Oil Depot

So far our hits have been:

    DS (almost 5)
    Playmobil camper
Playmobil car repair and tuning shop (bought w/ his own $ after Christmas. We called around everywhere locally to find it. He has played with it constantly)
Playmobil gas station (cheap add on/bagged set)
The Pomegranate in his stocking as well as the "mints with a sliding door" he requested

    misses:
so far not into the Playmobil castle that much (I think he'll grow into it). It was free on craigslist, and I have a hunch he'll get into this more in the next year or two.
    Sabuda Knights book

relative hit for both (I think):
DS and DD got a shared present of the Calico Critters baby playground and they played with it a TON on Christmas, but not much since then. I think they will enjoy this though, and the scale of it seems to work for playmobil people to play on it too

    DD (newly 2)
    Hits:
Gotz Doll and Maclaren stroller (december bday, so not technically a Christmas gift)
    Doll high chair
    Doll cradles
Penguin game from Learning Resources from my MIL. She has a strange affinity for these little guys LOL.

    misses:
dressup clothes (which surprises me as she loves dressup, but lately seems to tell me everything is too itchy or "don't like it". )

Thanks for mentioning the plate. We have tons of Duplo and we have lots of tower building. I'm going to order a couple plates and see if it helps things.

2 yr 11 month old DD:

    Big Hits:

Lakeshore learning fabric dolls (plays with them in the dollhouse)
