Default SO Indecisive – please help!

Hi all -- I'm very torn as to what to do for my son's crib bedding. I originally planned to do a nautical theme and picked out the Chase bedding from Pottery Barn Kids (you'll need to click on the room view pic): http://www.potterybarnkids.com/produ...2Dsheeting%7Cb

    I love the sailboat mobile!

Anyway, my husband and I have decided to leave the walls in the baby's nursery white. I'm afraid that this bedding is going to look very blah against white walls. What do you think?

I was at BRU over the weekend and saw this carter's bumper (much less expensive!) http://www.toysrus.com/product/index...ductId=2646257 And am now thinking of just doing all baby blue and brown accents. Although there isn't a matching crib skirt (that I saw anyway). So I'm thinking of getting a bunch of accessories from Restoration Hardware Baby & Child: http://www.rhbabyandchild.com/rhbc/c...rhbc_cat151006 The crib is an espresso color, so it might look nice: http://www.sorellefurniture.com/soph...49a35d9dbbc6a8

What do you all think? Which do you like better?

    Thanks in advance!

ps - this is my first post on this board. Is there a way that I can set up my account for responses to be emailed to me so I dont have to continually keep checking back?

I've noticed its kind of hard to get a response to a first post on here asking for opinions. I still haven't gotten one to mine. =) So I wanted to give you an opinion.

I personally have chosen not to use bumper pads after reading the baby bargains book, and then doing some addtl research on my own. They've proven that they can be dangerous to the babies, so I'm going to avoid them. But I think the nursery white walls will look great with the Espresso furniture. You can break up the white monotony with colored shelves, and decorative portraits with nautical scenes maybe. Maybe a blue chair as reflected on your 3rd link. The "marlowe sleigh & dot" is a beautiful room with the white walls, but the ones with white furniture were a little too white, and in that case I would consider painting the walls with a soft blue.

Good Luck! Post pictures with what you decide!

I like the PBK that you've picked out. I guess it depends on your taste whether it seems to bland or not with white walls. Have you thought about painting the walls ivory for a bit more contrast? JMHO, but I find the Restoration Hardware stuff quite spendy for what it is - especially compared to other brands.

Many don't like crib bumpers for safety/SIDs issues as pp has mentioned.

You can set up your BB account to do all sorts of things, check out "Newbies, Questions, Board Rules..." for more info. It's the third one down. Don't know for certain about the email or not, I use User CP to keep updated on subscribed threads. (it's at the top left of the screen) Some privileges don't kick in until you've posted X number of times, again, I'm not sure about which, so check the Newbies section.

And, welcome ...to both of you.

I actually kinda like the bedding in the picture of your crib... it ties the browns, blues, and white all together -- it is Mod Turtle by Kidsline, if you were wondering.
