    Default ? about Crockpot

I love my crockpot, but the last 2-3 recipes I tried turned out a little funny. It took me a while to figure it out, but all 3 recipes had green bell pepper in them and the bell pepper tasted really bitter. I can't imagine why, but there it is! I purchased the peppers from two different stores on two different occasions, so I don't think there was anything wrong with the peppers themselves. Anyone know what could make them taste bitter? (I cook with bell peppers all the time and have never had this problem before, but I suppose I usually cook them stir-fry style or on the stove or oven, not for long stretches of time in a slowcooker.) Is this just what happens when you put them in a crockpot, or could it be something else?

Next time don't put the green peppers in the crockpot, green peppers turn bitter when slow cooked. Saute the green peppers in some oil and add them in at the end. HTH!
