    Most commercial yogurts have a lot of added sugar. You can add some sugar to the next batch, or simply sweeten it yourself by adding sugar, honey, fruit, etc.

    Yep, we've done it many times. We use probiotics (Jarrow brand) plus some store bought yogurt as our starter.

    If it was super tart, sometimes cutting the time back will help (more tart equals less lactose, so if you have any lactose issues, you'd want to run it longer).

    Sweeten with whatever you want to cut the tartness if it bothers you, throw it in a smoothie, make a savory dish (like a curry) w/ the tart stuff, etc.
