Default What's the best favor your dc has received at a b-day party?

Which one was the biggest hit for *them*, not the one you liked the best for them? How about the one you thought was the best?

I have liked all the favors we have given but I am drawing a blank for this year and need some ideas. I meant to buy more of these adorable canvas covered, jungle themed journals that were $2 at Target back in Feb. to give but, alas, I didn't get them.

The only thing I can actually remember Sarah getting as a favor was a My Little Pony (which she was never into but Amy loves LOL!). We have mostly gotten just random junk. I seriously cannot remember a single other favor.

I just threw away a bunch of stupid little plastic bugs that were a favor at a party a month or two ago.

I like useful things--bubbles, pads of paper, crayons/markers, stickers.

Balloons. Plain jane regular ol' ballons. The kids will fight tooth and nail over a penny balloon until it mysteriously disappears. Sigh.

In the summer, those squishy water balls that absorb water and you throw them and they splash. DS had a ball (no pun intended) with these at the pool party.

Rocket balloons. They come with a little pump to blow them up with, too. $1.80 at Target

Other faves have been bubbles, sidewalk chalk, small Chuck E Cheese gift card, etc.

The best has also been the worst . . . bubbles. The best are the small little bear or other German brand that work great. They run about $1 a bottle. The worst were the cheapo small ones that just didn't work, it created crying and disappointed children. A matchbox car and balloon have also been very popular.

My youngest just went to a princess party for a three year old friend and LOVED the little princess gloves. They were a bit too big, and impossible to put on by herself so not my favorite favor, but they were a big hit. The crown was also a hit and the tiny notepad and princess pencil.

When my daughter turned 4 years old (about 3.5 years ago!), I gave
out really cool party favors. I gave each child a disposable camera
and a Mickey Mouse or Minnie Mouse photo album. The kids loved them.
That's what the parents told me, anyway.

At my son's 4th birthday party this year, we gave out a balsa wood
airplane and a hatching dinosaur egg to each boy. The boys seemed
    pretty excited.

I would love to find a really good deal on Lil Kinz for my daughter's birthday
    party. (not until November)

I try to keep my goody bags at $4-5 each.

DD went to a Safari party at age 4, they gave each child a straw hat, had a jungle print bandana, binoculars (to hunt for animals) and a disposible camera to photograph the animals...she came home with all of this plus a small bag of safari animals..we still have the hat, bandana, and binoculars and animals 2 years later. (and both kids play with them all the time)

We developed the pictures (they only took about 10 at the party so I let DD take the rest of the roll and then we took it in to be developed)

I thought this was awesome and so creative! There were only 6 kids total at the party so it was manageable for the parents.

DD also loves to come home with a plain balloon.
