Gates

We're moving to a new house next month, and I think we'll do new gates (the old ones are pretty beat up, and I'm pretty sure we lost some pieces while transporting them to the storage unit where they lived while we were selling the house). Seems the evenflo top of stairs is well recommended, and I like the price. Can anyone tell me - can your 5 year old open it? I'd really like something that our older child can open.

I don't know.....my sister and father have a hard time opening it sometimes!!! I'll be interested to hear what others have to say!

We stopped using these when Gwen was 4, but she could not open them then and I really think she still wouldn't be able to at 6. She doesn't have trouble with other gates at the sitter, etc., but this gate does take both hand strength and coordination to open IMO.
