Default WWYD: DS taking it sllllllllooooowwwww with PT

We started PTing last week. We are on week 2 now. He is 2 years, 7 months. He has peed in the toilet with a stool after watching his dad before his bath. That has happened 3 times. He just started sitting in the Bjorn potty downstairs during the day with the nanny (after over a week of prodding). He wears training pants during the day and diapers for naps, nightime and for outings. He understands the concept perfectly but still pees on himself and refuses to go in the potty. The whole thing has given him greater awareness about using the toilet and he now likes to be changed right away if he pees his diaper, himself or has a #2. However, things seem to be moving at a glacial pace. Do we need to ramp things up (do an intense weekend of training) or should we discontinue and wait until later?

I'd wait til he's ready. DS trained shortly after 3 yo, as did most boys I know.

My ped said that 4yo was a good goal for a boy, 3yo for a girl.

If it becomes a power issue at all, then beck off immediately as no good can come from that.

If you want to just continue at this pace then go for it. Slow is not a bad thing. But, if you are losing your patience with it all then just bag it. He's little and there is plenty of time to learn this.

So it is normal for a boy his age not to be ready? His best bud is actually two months younger and has already been PTed.
