I can't believe it. I'm in total shock.
The neighbor decided that he was going to paint my fence. My lovely raw cedar fence that cost me NINE THOUSAND DOLLARS. This was installed before his house was even built. It was installed a foot onto our side of the property line, so there would be no doubt. He didn't contribute to installing it. He didn't ask to paint it. (I would have said NO!) I just arrived home to find him 3/4 done with his second coat.
His reasoning was "it faces my house". I'm SSOOO mad.
He even did a crappy job - the are all kinds of dripps showing on our side, and he painted the tops of the boards, too... You can't paint just one side! The boards will cup and warp!
Argued with him for 15 minutes that he had no right to paint MY fence and had to call the police to make him stop.
Now, I'm spend valuable naptime to get quotes to replace the side he painted. And even if I can get him to replace it without going to small-claims court, it will be three years newer than the rest of the fence. It will never match again, and I'll always be reminded of the idiot next door!!!!
What can I do????? We plan to stay in this house forever.
