I buy lemonade in bottles from Trader Joe's or Whole Foods. You can open up only what you need (sell) and save the rest for later.
Baked goods have been our big money makers. People have said that they only stopped b/c the signs said both. II make up cookies (choc. chip) and brownies. Sell them for $.25 or $.50.
We have had several lemonade sales. I like to have lots of quarters on hand, a trash can, napkins, cups and signs. We hang signs up on nearby street corners (like 1 block in each direction).
They're fun. It helps if you can tie it in w/ some other community happening, like a yard sale or something. But, on the right day you can do well. If you have any friends or family in the area invite them over. One year the g'parents were his only customers. He was determined to have it this one weekend in April and it wound up being chilly and dreary- no foot traffic. Scope out the busy times in your neighborhood for foot traffic so you can best choose a time. Do people walk their dogs right after work, for example?
