sounds yummy! I actually just bought crushed peppermints in the sprinkle area at Target. But at $3 it would be pricey depending on how much you need (I am using them to decorate white chocolate lollis).
My all time favorite Christmas cookies (that I make) are a ginger/molasses drop cookie. I couldn't live w/o my moms annual 7 layer (rainbow) cookies.

No nuts..here you go
3/4c softened butter
1/2c sugar
2 egg yolks
cream those together then add
1 3/4 c all purpose flour
preheat your oven to 375 and roll dough into 1in balls. If the dough gets too soft just stick it in the fridge for a few minutes. Make a well in the middle of each ball (I use a knuckle but you can use your thumb) and add about 1/2 tsp raspberry preserves to each cookie. Make sure you get preserves and not jelly/jam. If you don't like raspberry, just choose another flavor of preserves.
Bake 8-10 min or until the bottom of the cookie is golden brown. The top of the cookie may not catch any color, just tip a cookie back at 8 minutes to see where they are.
Enjoy. Do yourself a favor...double this recipe.
Sure! Here goes...
White Chocolate Peppermint Chippers
Good Housekeeping Mag, December 2003
3/4 c. white choc chips
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 sticks (3/4 c.) margarine
2/3 c. sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp. vanilla
12 round hard peppermint candies
3/4 c. sweet dark choc chips
1. Melt 1/3 c. white chips in microwave. Let cool slightly.
2. Preheat oven to 375. Mix flour with baking powder and salt.
3. Add margarine to melted chips. Beat at medium speed until creamy. Add sugar- beat until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla- mix well. Reduce to low speed- add in flour mixture until just blended.
4. PLace candies in plastic bag (sealed) and crush with rolling pin (**this didnt work for me- I ended up chopping them with a knife**). Using a spoon, stir the candies, dark chips, and remaining white chips into the cookie batter.
5. Drop by rounded teaspoon (2" apart) onto greased cookie sheets. Bake 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet and then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
Hope you like them!

Chocolate chip graham cracker squares rolled in 10x sugar. My grandmother got it out of a woman's day magazine in the 1950's. It's soooooooo good (and very easy to make). I will post later. I have to go and find the recipe.

I've been making almond-anise biscotti the past couple years, they are my runaway favorite. Who can argue with cookies you can eat for breakfast with your coffee? I won't let myself make them after the holidays, or I'd be double my current weight.
I make some sour cream cutout cookies every year too - the dough is a PITA to work with but my mom's been making them since I was little and they are so good. Christmas wouldn't be the same without them.
