>>it sounds like I might be better off going with CPFs and covers, with some fitted ones (would that be like a FuzziBunz?). I think fitteds in adjustable sizes would make the most sense.
No, Fuzzibunz are not fitteds. Fitteds always need a cover whereas Fuzzinbunz are pockets and all pockets have the cover "built in," so to speak. When you say "fitteds in adjustable sizes," do you mean a one-size fitted? That would be a good choice and you can ask here for recommended brands .... Goodmama comes to mind. There are also fitteds that are sold in just two sizes and fit a range of shapes and sizes, so that would be another option.
>> I don't know if I'll get the diaper sprayer, I might just see about turning the water back on to the bidet and letting that be my diaper sprayer!
You definitely need to investigate standards between any diaper sprayer you would purchase and the plumbing in your overseas place. I am not at all sure a sprayer here would fit an overseas toilet.
>> I'd love suggestions for diaper friendly soap options.
Is there anything unusual about doing laundry in your overseas location i.e. particulary hard or soft water, particularly expensive for water or electricity for washing/drying, bad detergents, no dryer available, front loader, low water use machine? I have never done diaper laundry overseas, but I have done lots of regular laundry overseas and there are lots of differences. For soap, if you generally like the detergent there, I'd use whatever good quality detergent is available locally and see how it works. I use Tide personally.
For covers, I'd stick with the ones generally recommended. Bummis Super Whisper Wraps (BSWW) and Super Brites are excellent. Proraps aand Green Earth Diapers re basic and cheap, Thirsties are nicer and great. Motherease Airflow and Riki Wrap are pretty good. Aristocrats are an excellent nighttime wool diaper cover. Bumkins are ok, but have harsh leg elastic and cut.
What country will yoube going to?
