Default What age for own room?

At what age did your DC begin sleeping in his/her own room (as opposed to your room)?

Were you using a bassinette or PnP until then, or did you have a full crib in your room?

6 months. We used a PnP until then. Moved her to the crib in her own room when I felt she was outgrowing the bassinet portion.

Plan to do the same with DD#2 on the way!

DS1 moved from a cradle in our room to a crib in his room at 3 months. We had just returned from a vacation, so it seemed logical to us, and he was outgrowing the crib.

DD moved from the cradle to crib at about 5 months.

DS2 moved from the cradle in our room to a crib in our room and then finally to a crib in his room. Moving to his room was at a few days short of a year.

We kept them in our room for a few weeks in the pack'nplay and then moved them to their room. I am such a light sleeper it was really hard for me to have them so close, they would make little noises that would keep me up. It was also kind of hard to move them, because I was really worried, but it worked well for us. I think since they were together in their crib it was easier though. I used a monitor for a little while but soon stopped since I easily heard them immediately and woke up even being down the hall.

It's really a curse to be a light sleeper.

The day they came home from the hospital. I NEED my sleep, and I can't sleep with baby noises. Plus, neither of us minded getting up and going to their room -- it made it easier for the sleeping parent to stay asleep.
