So, I have been discharged as of this morning and my milk is coming in (Big YAY! ) and Gwen had a Good Day yesterday.
When we made it over to the CICU to visit before we left, she was having another echo. She does NOT like her echos!
Her nurses report she's eating very well and she's got a good strong suck, so when she's cleared to breastfeed directly, I suspect we will be OK to learn how to latch properly.
We're cautiously optimistic about her progress, so if she continues to improve, we may be able to take her home this week. Thank you for your congratulations, thoughts and prayers. We are SO proud of her and tell her that every chance we get. She recognizes our voices, and opens her eyes whenever I am in the room. DH is a bit more reserved, but totally in love with her ... I think he's seriously considering wrapping her in bubble wrap and locking her in her room until she's 30. (LOL ... not that the thought hasn't crossed my mind as well.)
She's also "met" almost all of her "extended family" ... which means, she's met DH's brother & SIL, my MIL & FIL, my mom, my sister & her boyfriend, my brother Ger & SIL ... and my dad will be coming down tomorrow (3/14) to visit her for the 1st time. (Dad has been getting over a cold, so we banned him from coming down earlier.)
ETA: Thank you to whoever recommended the "Simple Wishes" hands-free pumping bustier in my other thread about pumping bras; it has been a lifesaver this week and I think I will need another one sooner rather than later.
In the meantime, DH is working to finish up the last bits of decoration for her nursery - shelving for all her stuffed animals and the few books we've gotten as baby gifts.
I'll post a photo within the next couple of days ... FB has been clamoring for what few photos I have of her, so I just have to play with my SD card. (Honestly, I've been more content to hold her little hand or sing to her than remember I have my camera in my pocket, so I haven't taken many photos.)

I'm late to the thread, but I'm so happy to hear she's doing well. I hope your NICU experience goes as smoothly as possible, I remember how concerned you were. Big hugs!!! Yay!
