rice cereal didn't sit well with dd so we moved onto to oatmeal and other grains. dd wanted to feed herself pretty quickly so her diet would consist of chopped up bananas, pita bread w hummus, cut up meatballs, cottage cheese, little rice balls (i just bunch up sticky rice to a size of grape), bread crust (great for teething) and kefir in sippy cup.

DS2 stopped eating it pretty quickly. He liked oatmeat or whole grain cereal much better. He now rotates between cold cereals, regular oatmeal, wheat pancakes, fruits and yogurt.

Neither of my daughters ever ate a bite of it (we never offered it). I'm not surprised a 1 year-old wouldn't want to eat it. At that point my daughters were eating whatever we had for dinner (mashed or cut up appropriately).
