    Default Wiping 101

We are almost a year into using the big potty with DD. She usually does great, but if we let her wipe herself after she pees, she doesn't get *in there* enough to fully dry off, and she gets rashes, itches and sometimes burning. We don't even attempt to let her wipe after she poos.

So, any hints? Advice? How old is old enough to let them do it alone? And how do you teach them to *really* get in there and get it all out?

Well, with DD, I made sure to give her enough toilet paper. I figured that if the surface area of the t.p. was larger, than she was more likely to get all the drips and drops. I still wipe DD after poop, and she's 4 and a few months.

Are you sure these symptoms are the result of incomplete wiping? I wouldn't expect such severe symptoms simply from not drying off completely.

DD is just starting to use the potty intermittently. I am struggling with the front-to-back issue. She just kind of wiggles the paper back and forth, which could cause problems for her down the road if I can't get her to go front to back.
