Default Please recommend a sippy cup

We're just starting to introduce the sippy. Any brand recommendations?

We like Nuby. Cheap, no little parts, easy to clean.

I love the Playtex ones that you can buy at Target, the local grocery store, etc. They're around $4 per cup, or about $7 for a two-pack, and they never leak (other brands we've tried do leak. DD also loves the handles on the sides, and even though she'll be 2 in a couple months, she still uses these.

We recently tried these, but they leak if tipped upside down. We only put a little water in, but still!

I love the Playex no spill sippy cup. The handles make it very easy for my DD to hold and I have never had them leak on me as long as the valve is in...and this is with DD flinging it off the highchair quite often. I started my DD on this cup at 5.5 months and at 9 months she still loves them.

(I tried 1 Nuby cup but my DD didn't care for it)

Nuby they are cheep and work well but I have had issues with the spouts wearing out fairly quickly if you have a chewer -- happens here during teething

2nd is the Born free. Ive never had a problme with leaking

My boys have NEVER taken one with a hard spout

Everything happens for a reason, sometimes the reason is you're stupid and make bad decisions

For just starting I would recommend the nuby (the two handle ones tend to leak, but the regular ones are great) - the spouts are soft silicone and basically like glorified bottles, so they're easy for LOs to learn and use. We had no problem moving DS from a bottle to a sippy using Nubys. Once he got the hang of the sippy, we moved to the Playtex ones (with the hard spout), and then into straw cups (we use both straw and sippies because we have both)...

(babies r us sells them in 4 packs for $10-12 I believe, but just to show you what they are - they are the super spout easy gripper)
