I was going to order one of these for my DD until I read the reviews on Amazon. Lots of people say its really hard for kids to open and if its not closed just right then it can leak. Too bad because they are really cute!

We did the same. I found that the little bitty containers with lids are actually easier for my son to open and close. And while it's not strictly bento, I find it's easier for his lunches to use a bunch of the little bitty containers packed into a lunchbox tetris-style than to do a true bento with one big compartment.

I use the laptop lunch for DS and it is a perfect size. I really like it. That said, I just discovered these
    http://anotherlunch.blogspot.com/201...asy-bento.html
and really want to try them out! If our LTL bites the dust we'll try them. Much more affordable and the bag fits a bunch of other stuff in it. My issue with the LTL is that you pretty much have to buy the LTL bag to fit it, and that is pricey. The only other bag I've fond to fit it is one of the LE lunc bags.

I just read about these on that blog too and just ordered them. Much more affordable than buying a LTL for each kid. And we can just put them in the lunchboxes the kids already have. I'm excited to try them out!

I like how those boxes can nest when they are empty. Also, it looks easy to use for those who are intimidated by the whole idea of bento, but want to try it.

I bought the company store lunchbox and the laptop lunchbox fits perfectly in it. I clipped off of the metal hook things on the back since they are meant to clip on to their backpacks and no one is the wiser. I'll snap a pic for you and email you calebsmama03. :-)

That being said, we really love our Laptop Lunchbox and have been using it for 3+ years now and it's still going strong. I have several extra inner containers since I put them in the dishwasher and don't want to bother with having to do that everyday if I don't need too. My only negative on the whole system is the lids. I use Glad press n seal when I put something like applesauce, yogurt or ketchup in the tiny sauce container instead of bothering with the lids since they are difficult to take off and it's easier for the kids this way. We are big fans of the LL and I have them for my 5 and almost 7 year old!

Another Laptop Lunch fan here. Both my kids love it and we've been using them for three years now on an almost daily basis. The nice thing is the flexibility to remove some of the boxes to fit larger items, if the need arises (if they are having a sandwich with lunch).

I don't have the official bag but we have a LE one that works and also one from Costco.

At first (in preschool) it was hard for ds to open, but he got used to it in time. There is only one box to open as the others do not have covers. There are two covered boxes for liquids (one is tiny, for sauces). It's really easy and fun to fill it and the kids still get a kick out of it.

Another vote for Laptop Lunchbox! We love ours. It gets tons of use and is always going in the dishwasher. They are high quality and wear like iron. Ours fits in our Land's End and Crocodile Creek insulated lunchbag perfectly. My daughter starts kindy in the fall and I can't wait to order a few new ones in different colors!

Those more disposable looking ones look great too - worth a try if you are on the fence with bento boxes!
