Default Tipping for hotel room service?

Do you tip the person who brings your room service items? Or is a delivery fee/service charge usually included in the bill?

i usually tip 20%. unless it is already included (it will say on receipt, something like how 18% or whatever gratuity has been added)

Most times the delivery charge and 18% gratuity are automatically added to the bill so I would make double sure. There's always a line for "tip" to make you think you need to tip extra but you've already been charged for it so I don't.
BTW I never ordered room service before kids but it's so much easier than waiting in the restaurant and stressing about how she behaves and having to leave with half-finished dinners. So worth the $3.50 delivery charge.

I've never seen a hotel not charge at least 15% gratuity for room service but only a couple of times have the servers told me the service is included. Still, I always give a little extra.

The "tip" or service fee or gratuity automatically included on room service bills doesn't usually, if ever, see the server. It is another fee and not a true tip. We tip for room service, for the person who brings you an iron or other misc. thing we might need, etc.
