My husband is pretty set on a Banff vacation in August. DD will be about 18 months by then and I'm just a little unsure of if this the best place for us to go at this stage...
Advice or suggestions of things to see there?
Thanks!

What does he want to do while there? Does your DC like to be in backpack type of carrier (ie, Kelty style) so you could do some hiking. I think it'll be pretty busy in August, super crowded actually. I have relatives in Alberta and I know they avoid it in the summer if they can.I prefer Jasper myself for scenery and more laid back atmosphere, less commercialism.
It's been ages since I've been, but I'm not sure there are any kid specific type of activities, but many kids love swimming in the hotel pool, looking at wildlife etc. Maybe someone who has been recently has more info.
I dunno, I love Banff, but its not a trip I personally would do with an 18mo. I wouldn't hike around there, waaaaay too many bears for my comfort level (and I've had some very close encounters with both bears and cougars in my day). It will be VERY crowded that time of year.
