Default Random comments I've heard today...

(from my 16yo bro who just came home from OOT school)- Wow, you're really fat.

(from the stranger in the supermarket checkout line)- You're pregnant with your FOURTH baby? Don't you have a TV?

(from my 7 year old dd) Mommy, your belly button is inside out! It's soooo weird!

(from my 20 month old- this was his first complete sentence. Now he says it all day long)- Mommy, I need you!

(from another random stranger) Wow, so when were you due?

I could go on, but these were the best of the bunch.

Aww, that one from your 20 month old is so sweet!

I can relate to a lot of those. I haven't gotten "fat" but do you think 9-10 HUGEs=1 fat?

And when I say I am due in late Oct/early Nov, I always get, "Are you sure?" Or "Is it twins?"

Also, with us having a boy and a girl, I can't tell you how many people ask if this baby was an accident. And when I say no, they honestly don't understand why!

The comment that really rubs me the wrong way is, "You were so skinny before and now you're so big!" Um, yeah, thanks. Like that thought hasn't passed my mind, jerk!

Don't you wish people would just say, "How are you feeling?" Or, "How exciting! Another baby!"

I love the TV comment. It makes me crack up. (Especially because the answer is no.)

Heh, the accident line got thrown around a lot over here. Technically DD was an accident, but it's still so rude to ask someone, even if you are family. I think I nearly bit my tongue off with all the times I had to stop myself from responding "no more than you were".

I never got big enough to have people ask me if I was having twins, but I still like the line my mom used when she was pregnant with me (I was a mondo fat baby) - "I think I'm having an elephant." I really wanted to say that to someone.

Yeah, but they usually say something along the lines of what my dad's mom said to him when he told him my mom was expecting my sister (her 4th):

"Gerald, you have to stop doing this."

BTW, babies are hope for the future. Having more means you've got more hope, doesn't it???? (And congrats to OP on 4 and you on 3 ... being one of 4 myself, I have a soft spot for "big" families!!!)

Both my dh & I are from families with 9 kids. I wonder what Mrs Nosy would have said to our parents? It makes me giggle just thinking about it.

I never called myself an elephant, but I once told my dr that lying down on the exam table at 38 weeks made me feel like a beached whale. I got a lot of laughs out of that line.

You should have said, "Yes, but all we watch is porn."
