I got some awful comments when I was pregnant with DD........strangers did not believe me when I said I was having a girl because I was carrying soooo far out in front.
And then the look on their faces when I told them i was due at the end of March (and it was only Dec, or Jan....) grrrrrrrrr...

This time I'm having people ask me if we're going to try for a third so DH can have a boy......like having two girls isn't good enough.

I hate the- are you hoping for the other kind- questions. What's up with those?

Also, I always carry the same exact way & I have both.

Well, I waited to post because I didn't want to be a thread-stealer but I think I truly have the grand-daddy of all obnoxious comments. I was visiting my parents and sister last week and feeling great in my pretty, new maternity clothes that DH splurged on for me at a local boutique.

My sister points to my belly button (which is NOT particularly prominent and an innie) and says in this fake-innocent, sing-song voice, "It looks like you have a teeny, little penis growing out of your stomach."

For some reason, it was the most upsetting, disgusting comment to me - - I felt almost physically ill with that particular mental image, I literally deflated in my new maternity sundress, and felt like crying/knocking her senseless. It didn't help that the comment I am sure was intended to be a little mean-spirited.

That is totally & utterly disgusting. At least I know all the comments were intended to be humorous or the person just didn't know that some questions shouldn't be asked. I'm just speechless. Ew!

This one actually made me laugh then and still does 9 wks later....
I came home from the hospital weighing a tad bit MORE than when I went in. I was barely up and around waiting to be discharged, one of my younger brothers walks in and says "another one already?!?! Isn't one enough for now?" Mom was so horrified

OMG, that is horrible. I think I would have left and not spoken to my sister for a while. Your sis better get you an awesome baby gift to make up for that.

In re the penis comment - Does your sister have any kids yet? I'd have told her that all kinds of strange things happen when we're pregnant and it's normal to grow one. Doesn't she know that?

That would have been brilliant! DS has no kids yet. Unfortunately, I don't think I have developed fast reflexes to respond to penis comments directed at MY body!! Even DH was shocked into speechlessness . . .

I am so glad you all get it. DH thinks the whole thing is bizarre but cannot understand why I find it so physically, viscerally disgusting even days after The Comment - - I feel much better after reading that other posters feel like I do. Ewwww is right!

I definitely got the "Are you sure you aren't having twins?" But the worst was from a male co-worker "Do you think you will EVER lose all that weight?"
The disgust in his voice was palpable.

The thing I really hated was all the people constantly fondling my belly. Perfect strangers in stores. The worst was a lady I work with who went to grab my belly, missed and instead grabbed my breasts in front of my boss when we were sitting down to a meeting. I was so mortified.
