Default Can you recommend children's books with moms only?

My friend is a single mother, and she has a toddler that she reads to every night. She's prepared to have the "do I have a daddy?" talk with her eventually, but in the meantime, she would love to find some normal children's books that show everyday situations with just mommies and children. Can you recommend some, please?

It's so very cute and very British! Plot: Mom with 2 kids invites neighboring mom with two kids to tea.

A mom takes her daughter to the library each week, and reads her a story every night:

Where the Wild Things Are, although it's about a little boy... But still a cute book.

    Llama Llama Red Pajama
    Llama Llama Misses Mama
    Llama Llama Mad at Mama

These are DS2's favorite books right now. It's just Llama Llama and his mama...no Daddy llama mentioned. Probably because "daddy" and "llama" don't rhyme!

DS2 is 13 months old and this is his favorite book right now. I don't know if it would be too young for your friend's DD though.

I agree on Llama Llama -- my daughter loves the red pajama book! Great recommendation.

We also love Mommies Are For Counting Stars. I believe there are daddies in some of the pictures, but the text is focused on mommies.

Snow Bears is a lovely book that is about a mama bear and her three baby bears.
