rash guard questions

Late to the rash guard thing here (for me, not dds).

Ummm, how does an adult woman wear a rash guard? Does it go over another bathing suit? Can I wear one with a bra under? I can not go without a bra.

I was considering getting one for the times we go to splash pads or wading pools, or hiking near water - places where I don't actually swim, but may get semi-wet. But I absolutely need some sort of support... So how do people wear them?

I wear an underwire bra swim suit under my rash guard and it works great!

I own one but hate the cut of it so I don't wear it. But, I did want to wear it when I went snorkeling and had the same dilemma. I opted to put a bikini top on underneath for support. A bra wouldn't work, imo, b/c I wouldn't want it to get wet. Pick up a cheap bikini top at Target or ON if you don't have one.

I've never woren one. I really don't like them on women. Why wouldn't you feel comfortable in a tankini? I wear them even when I don't swim.

A tankini is what I do now, but it really doesn't offer enough support for when I am doing other things - chasing kids around the park with a stop at a splash pad type thing. Or going on walks with a little creek crossing or splashing area. So I was thinking a rash guard with a bra (a smooth cup one that I don't mind getting wet) might work (I have swim shorts or a swim skirt I could wear on the bottom in those scenarios) . Or it might not. lol I just know really know how they work on women who need support (vs my dds who can just wear one as their top).

eta: I have a large bust, so even my underwire tankini just doesn't provide great support!

Yes an underwire bra would be ok if you aren't soaking wet all the time. It will dry too.

What about a sports bra? The coolmax type seem like they would dry quickly.

I had wondered the same thing, but I don't think I've actually seen an adult wearing them. I'd like to try one too. I would probably try to wear a sports bra underneath, I think.
