    Default Selling old CDs

DH and I are in the process of de-cluttering and getting rid of stuff that we just don't need anymore. We have about 100 old CDs (mostly from the 80s and 90s) that we would like to get rid of, and I was wondering the best way to proceed. We would like to sell them and make a buck or two if possible. The first thing that comes to mind is ebay, but it also seems quite tedious and time consuming considering all the CDs we have. Any other options out there? TIA!

You can take them to a used music or used book store like Edward mckays, but I wouldn't expect to get much from anywhere for music that old, not to mention most people use mp3s now...good luck!

I would go with Craigslist rather than eBay. In most areas Craigslist is free, while eBay takes something off every sale.

I doubt you will find many music lovers interested in CDs. Most people want mp3 files now. But you might encounter a collector, just as some people collect LPs.

More likely (??) someone who is artistic will want old discs to use in projects, such as some I have seen on HGTV. I'm not sure how much anyone will be willing to pay, though, as it is pretty easy to get CDs for free.

There are brick and mortar stores out there that do nothing but buy and sell used CDs. That's what I did a few years back - downloaded everything to ipod and then took boxes over. I remember walking away with somewhere between $100-$200 - usually $3-5 per CD depending on quality and demand. It is the quickest and easiest method - do you really want to list individual CDs on CL or eBay? Ugh! I can't remember the name of the place I took mine to, but keep your eyes open as you're driving (usually not located in the nicest of neighborhoods) or google/check yellow pages.

While I do have an iPod for travel, I still listen to CDs in my car all the time. My DH takes a portable CD player with him when he deploys and takes his CDs too. 80's and 90's are our era. If you get a list together of what you have, I may be interested in some of them.

    I've also used them before.

Or you could always just donate them and then claim the tax deduction.
