    Default Vision issues?

Is anyone else having trouble with their vision during their pregnancy? I don't remember having problems with my first two but this time I feel like my contacts are always a little off (I have severe astigmatism and wear toric lenses). It's so frustrating. I went back and forth over and over trying to get a contact prescription that worked (starting before I got pregnant, and taking MONTHS) and they still aren't good. Actually sometimes they are ok, and sometimes they are horrible. Seems like there's a lot of fluctuation. I'm hoping they'll return to normal once I have the baby. Just wondered if this happened to anyone else.

It hasn't happened to me, but it can happen. Then again, my vision is bad enough that I probably wouldn't notice a difference. They don't recommend getting a new prescription during pregnancy, because it usually isn't a permanent change.

My vision degraded a little with each pregnancy. Eye doc said that it didn't happen to everyone, but when it does happen, it's normal. Vision got a tinge better after the baby the first time - now I am one week postpartum with #2 and the world's still a little fuzzy.

I had LASIK pre-baby, btw. Severe astigmatism, toric gas permeable lenses, -11 and -13.5. I was 20/30ish after Lasik and am now 20/40. Still able (and legal) to drive without glasses. I highly highly recommend the procedure to people with very bad vision. And as I learned a little late, it's best to do it AFTER having your babies.

My dh wants me to do Lasik. There is a question whether my lenses are still thick enough for them to do the surgery. But my prescription is only -10. If yours were thick enough, mine should be. After this baby, I have to go see a specialist about it. We have a specialty eye center here that i can go to.

I had Lasik 4 years before M was born and I didn't have any problems during and after the pregnancy. TT's pregnancy was a different story. It started going downhill even after I delivered. I am contemplating Lasik again.

Your vision went back to the way it was? That's not good.

I wear contacts. Per my Opthamologist, I was in glasses the entire time for my PG's with DD and DS. I have issues where my eyes went from -7 to -10 to -8 (flip flopped all around). Anyway, my lenses are so thin they cannot do the lasik (or any other procedure) right now. With lasik I have a very high percentage of losing my vision completely. I went to 3 different places and was told the same thing each time. I'm bummed. I do have a friend who did lasik pre kids and has had no eye issues at all.

Yeah, I'd also prefer to keep what vision I have left.

My vision never went back to how it was immediately after Lasik. I did't have any vision problems during or after his birth. My vision started going downhill during and slightly after TT's birth. It hasn't improved but I want to get Lasik done again so I can have my 20/40 back.

I'm not sure that I would bother doing Lasix until I was finished having kids then.
