Default Would you point and laugh if I wore a fanny pack to WDW?

So I'm considering a fanny pack. There. I said it.

    http://www.amazon.com/JanSport-Waist...2874008&sr=8-3

I really want to have valuable essentials (money, id, camera, phone) attached to my body. Other supplies like dipes, wipes, water, snacks, sunscreen can go in backpack and can be left in stroller. I just think I'd be uncomfortable leaving pack with valuables on the stroller, and I don't want to carry a heavy pack on the rides when I won't need anything in the pack while on the ride.

I'll already be toting a 25+ lb. toddler.

Seriously, though, am I setting myself up for ridicule?

No one will point and laugh! Have you been to WDW? A fanny pack won't even ping the radar. It's NMS, but seriously, no one will notice, and I'm sure you won't be the only one.

I would not laugh at you, most definitely. But, my first thought is that I wouldn't be caught dead wearing one... of course upon further ponderation, what other practical solution is there?

I tend to think that even if you do something ridiculous, all the other people at WDW will be strangers, they have no idea who you are and you'll never see them again, so who cares what they think? (I'd just remove it for pictures so a few years from now, my children won't make fun of me like we make fun of our mom in the pictures from the 80's )

I use (an older version of) this bag at WDW and I love it. I wear it messenger style and it works great.

I usually go with a smallish messenger style bag, too. Lots of options there - Vera Bradley Hipster, Overland that Beth already shared, Lands End Little Tripper, and so on. More my style than a fanny pack.

But yeah, fanny packs are everywhere in WDW. You won't be alone if you go that route.

I wore one. Sure, it's not exactly fashionable, but it's SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO handy!

Nope, not here. We just ordered 2 from LLBean (waiting for them to come in). We plan on using them in October for our WDW trip.

I have come to the realization that this trip will be about comfort first, style second. But I did buy some cute dry-fit running shorts and shirts and some new sneakers. Hopefully that will camouflage the dreaded fanny back, oops sorry, make that waist pack .

OK, just to clarify--I was thinking of wearing the pack under my shirt, not sporting anything stylish.

But on further consideration, I remembered a neck/waist pouch that I used when living abroad about 15 years ago, and, yes, I still have it!

This isn't the exact model, but it's close:

It will fit my requirements (camera, keys, tickets, money) and best of all, I already have it (FREE)!

It would depend on the rest of your outfit. If you were wearing mom jeans, a baggy t-shirt and white sneakers (something irrational that I consider wrt fashionability) then the fanny pack would be the final straw. But, otherwise good looking outfit? I'd be thinking you could have found a better thing than a fanny pack but accept that sometimes it is the most practical thing.
