Art/craft supplies. My 4yo could spend HOURS doing crafts. Glue and scissors are particular favorites.

Stick Pony? I just bought one for my 2yr old but the 4yo loves it. My 2yo is a bit small for it and I've realized it probably is more age appropriate for the 4yo. Check Target online, I think they're about $15.00 there.big girl 6/06

DD#2 just attended a 4yo b-day party last weekend. I gave Monopoly Jr (with a gift receipt) and an Usborne craft book.

Maybe a Sticky Mosaics from Michaels bought with a 40% coupon? Stomp Rockets are always a hit too and are usually inespensive from Amazon.
