    Default Financial Planning

What kind of finacial planning do you have in place for your child(ren) with special needs? Do you have a special needs trust fund? Whole life insurance policy? College fund? How did you decide what to set up?

If you set up a college fund, can you later convert it to a special needs trust if that becomes necessary?

What happens if you set up a special needs trust, but it turns out that your child is able to function independently as an adult?

We don't have anything except life insurance for us setup yet. We just plan to help out our son as much as we can and keep supporting him ourselves when he becomes an adult. If we had the money to setup a trust fund for him I think it would be a great thing to do. Hopefully others have better advice than this.
