ISO CT or Westchester romantic weekend getaway

my brother asked for my help

i'm short on time, so thinking someone here might have a good tip

he wants to take his girlfriend for a nice retreat for either just friday night or maybe the whole weekend

in mid-december

they don't want to go far. it's peak holiday party season, so they want to be able to get back to the city with relative ease

any suggestions for a lovely place in either the westchester area or maybe lower CT?

Do they have a car or do they need it to be train accessible?

If they have a car, I would recommend the Spa at Norwich Inn in southeastern Connecticut (close to Mohegan Sun casino). I haven't stayed overnight (I live 15 minutes away) but I have been to the day spa and the restaurant. They are always having specials - I recommend signing up for their email list.
