Default Hits and misses 2010 for 0-2 year olds

Can we start the review threads for this year? I know some people have already done presents (Hanukah, early presents, etc).

So, what was a hit or a miss with your 0 to 2 year old?

    Thanks!
    Catherine

I got my 16-month-old the Plan Toys Dancing Alligator but so far - a miss. He has shown zero interest. He does however love his corn popper (which I got a consignment sale months ago) and some soft stacking blocks I got him at a garage sale. He also wanted to literally get into the Thomas set my mom got him - that was funny. I was impressed with how quickly he figured out that the train was supposed to be on the track, etc. He also loved his Little People Nativity set.

We still haven't taken out the Little People A to Z zoo and the duplo. I'm optimistic though.

Huge hit for my 19 month DD is the Melissa & Doug Shopping Cart. I think she really loves that it looks like the real thing and loves to put her baby in front...very cute!! She also got a Step 2 play kitchen and seems to really like it

Since one just does not simply walk into Mordor, I say we form a conga line and dance our way in.
Excuse me, are you in a play?

We're not finished yet (had to take a break for naps for DH & DD!) But so far we had some major hits for 2 yo DD:
    -The toothbrush in her stocking
-Kid Kraft Farmhouse table & chairs. We just had a bow on top, she walked right up to it and immediately sat down with her cup of milk. She sat there while going through her stocking and we all even ate breakfast there. Priceless.
    -Wooden building blocks

Misses: ColorWonder coloring book & markers. I think she just doesn't care enough yet about coloring, and she doesn't understand taking the caps off of the markers. She's happier with plain crayons.
