This has been going on for more than a year - in spurts. When I sleep on a single pillow turned sideways my head starts hurting - really really bad. Mostly forehead, sometimes top of my head. If I turn the other side the pain will go away and reappear on the side that I sleeping. The only way to fix this is to prop myself up on a couple of pillows and sleep on my back. I saw a dr (my regular doctor retired so this was the first time I was seeing this dr) and she dismissed it as something to do with my sinuses and has put me on a spray and antihistamine. I have a cold now and I noticed that last night was really really awful headache-wise. I had to sit up and sleep in order for my head to stop hurting. Could it be something else or is it just my sinuses??
