I voted 15 but I was actually 14. I'm kinda surprised that most were much older. I must have been an early bloomer because I felt ready then and still believe I was. We were responsible and used birth control everytime.

I was 18--and I lost it to my boyfriend at the time--now my husband! My parents gave me great advice that I totally followed. I hope my kids do the same.
My parents told me:
1. Be prepared to deal with any/all consequences of your actions. And pregnancy isn't always the only consequence.
2. There's only going to be one "first time." Make sure it's with someone you want to have that memory with.
I'm glad I waited until I was 18, even though DH and I had plenty of opportunity prior to that (we started dating at 14/15). It wasn't an impulsive decision. We were both ready and no matter what happened in terms of our relationship, I knew I would never look back and regret losing my virginity to him.
That's what I want for my kids.

Wow. I think I'm a bit chagrined that the poll doesn't have an age young enough for me to respond. I was mature for my age, though. . .
Bastille Day, 1983. Didn't plan it that way, just happened . . .

I was 20. I always thought that was late, but not by looking at this poll! I didn't think anyone made it to 30. Guess I was wrong!

22yo. And I was the oldest person I knew at the time who hadn't yet.

I was 16, going on 17 (and now I feel like a Vantrap Family Singer).
ETA: I guess I'm on the younger side here. Just want to say that I don't regret doing it when I did it at all. I was totally able to make that decision at that time, careful about it, and with someone I loved very much. I have no regrets at all.
