Default Why are art drying racks so expensive???

I've started doing daily art with the kids. They love it, it's going well, the only issue is finding a place to store the paintings and projects while they dry. We're in a small space with limited drying areas.

I started looking for a tabletop drying rack and am shocked at how expensive they are - the cheapest one was $50 and I saw them for well past $100! I don't need anything fancy, just wire formed so it can hold a few paintings. Why are they so pricey?

Anyone know of how to make your own or other ideas for this need?

Because if they hang vertically the paint drips down - I need them to lay flat until they're dry.

When I taught preschool, I used stackable cooling racks (like for cookies). It saved space.

Something like this. And you can stack them waaaay up high!
