"Someday, I am going to go to bed without toys on the floor and sippys in my sink. Things will stay where I put them and I can have nice, fragile items on display. But when I do, I will look around with a wistfullness in my heart and miss the days where vibrant imaginations ran wild and there was evidence of life happening around me all the time!"

My 7 year old is OBSESSED with Beyblades. He and his friends spend hours playing with them.

My ds turned 7 just over a week ago. His favorites were Lego. The new Ninjago series was a huge hit, especially the starter set. He also loves his nerf bullet guns.

Biggest hits for my 7yo right now are Legos, Snap Circuits, Tech Deck, Harry Potter Clue board game, Kirby's Epic Yarn for wii, Clue and New Super Mario Bros for DS. He also really likes the Harry Potter books, Black Lagoon series, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Kids Almanac, and Judy Blume's Fudge books.

Hi. thanks for the great ideas.

Luckytwenty- he would loved beyblades, but I have not let them have them yet. Can you explain these things to me?

He would also like a camera, but I have not purchased one yet. Anyone have the lego camera?

Kristac- thanks for the nice long list. I will have to look into some of those ideas.

beyblades are pretty much metal/plastic tops that spin once "zipped" off it's launcher. two beyblads "battle" and the last one spinning wins...it's a non-violent game. my 7yo likes his and likes to trade them at school with his friends at recess.

bakugan are also a fave around here, inexpensive, little boys like to collect and these are perfect for collect/trading with friends. little balls that pop up. you battle by adding #s...whoever has the highest # wins.

if you are getting a camera i'd suggest getting an inexpensive "real" camera vs a kid/toy camera. better quality, higher megapixels, makes them feel more grown up. we've gotten a couple "kid" cameras and have hated them.

Legos (HP, minifigure collectors, Ninjago, SW)

action figures are always a hit (Star Wars or superhereos/ironman/spiderman)

    Video Games are always wanted

Lego Board Games - Creationary looks great!

Books/Comics (Percy Jackson series, Harry Potter series, Wimpy Diary series are all great --not sure his reading level, but my 7yo reads all these)
