American Girl events

So, there are some free events (and ones that have a fee/need registration) at our local AG store this summer. It might be funto take DDs to a couple of them, in my quest for filling our time this summer and not killing each other.

However, they are listed for ages 8+. DD1 is 7.75, and DD2 is nearly 6.

Any experience with these - do they really need to be 8?? I think DD2 could do the crafts and sit/listen to a story.

We went to one in the beginning of the year and it was a visor (stickers on paper at a table). It was a free even and much more of a free for all unorganized mess that I was expecting.
