All I can say is I would never, ever want my boobs permanently shown in plaster. Ever. The belly thing is cool, but I would have no idea what to do with it or how to display it!!

In natural birthing circle, this is VERY VERY common.

Totally not my cup of tea at all but I think my sisters SIL did one for her first. I think it's kind of creepy and honestly what would you do with it?

I'd never display one in my house, but in art college a friend of mine did them for clients frequently. She got most of her referrals from an OB/GYN practice in Beverly Hills which displayed them (decorated/painted) as artwork in the office. Apparently they invited customers to donate their own and would rotate them on display.

Yeah, I have known a couple of people who have done this. I prefer photographs, myself...but whatever floats your boat, I guess!

There was a funny (albeit not at all successful) British film where someone knocks one of these over at the baby shower of a very pretentious family. Everyone is just SHOCKED at the audacity of it. I wouldn't have displayed it in the first place!

So, if you make one, what do you do with it?............in the back of my mind, I am thinking of the attic full of baby gear, the 4 gently used convertible carseats, and the 8 extra-large rubbermaid tubs full of clothes NB-2T that we are hanging onto just in case we are blessed with DD2. Honestly, I would have no where to store something like this......of course, I would not have known that when I was still preggo with DD.
