    Default Help! Are my sweet potatoes going to explode??

    I forgot to prick them! They are BULGING in the oven! I am afraid to open the oven...someone please tell me they won't blow!

    Open the oven and give them a prick or they could pop.

    Yeah, bulging doesn't sound good. Hope you've stabbed them by now, or you might have a lot of cleaning up to do. Yuk.

    OK phew they didn't blow. I couldn't bring myself to open the oven and prick them. I turned off the oven and waited for them to deflate. This is totally due to my irrational fear of latex balloons.

    On the plus side, they came out fabulous! I think I must have pressure-cooked them in their skins!
