i have always had rotten luck on finding stuff on my local craigslist. either ppl ask for too much money or the price is good but i am too late (stuff gets snagged up in minutes sometimes!). plus with 2 kids it's usually really tough to get out and drive an hour somewhere just to pick something up. i usually just give up and buy new.
the other day i was looking for playgrounds for DS (and eventually DD) for the backyard. i really wanted a little tikes or step2 playground but i couldn't stomach paying $500+ for one. well, for $200 i managed to get a Step2 Clubhouse Climber in decent condition. Not a smoking deal or anything (i think these go for $600 new), but the guy who sold it to us was super nice and delivered it right to our place and spent half an hour with us to set it up in our backyard!! so, we didn't have to drive anywhere and it was practically assembled for us!
DS was soo excited, as soon as the guy came he was running around trying to help set it up, LOL! he had a blast even though it was so hot outside. once it was set up he couldn't play with it too long as it was already 9pm! can't wait to have it play in it this weekend!

I too have a hard time snagging something on CL. When I email sellers, they never reply.

Good deal, and such fun! The delivery and set up are beyond the call of duty, so I would've been pretty happy with that.

Awesome! Sometimes the best finds aren't screamin' good deals. They are solid, fair price deals that get a little better with delivery and set up. And I love it when I deal with a person who is *nice*. It just makes the whole thing even better.
