White collar, colored rugby shirt, how to wash?

I ruined one of ds' rugby shirts washing the purple shirt with the purples and reds, thus turning the white collar pink. I want to avoid a repeat with the navy and pale blue Gymbo rugby I just bought him. What load should I wash it with? I wash colors and darks in cold and use Charlie's powder if that makes any difference.

I probably would wash on cold with darks/colors and definitely use a Shout color catcher.

Ok, I will have to pick up the color catchers. I usually do darks separately from colors. Do you think this goes in with the darks?

I would wash it with the darks.

I wash DH's white colored rugby shirts on cold with darks that have been washed lots already (e.g., old jeans) but I don't have a stain catcher.
