Cargill is recalling about 36 million pounds of ground turkey produced at an Arkansas plant. The turkey may contain salmonella.

Is it totally ridiculous to be afraid to eat the ground turkey in my freezer even if it's not on the recall list?

This is a Salmonella outbreak which is killed by thorough cooking. So just be very careful (as we should always be) to cook it completely and you don't have to be worried.
